Walker Street Community Kindergarten provides a welcoming, creative, and vibrant environment. Our dedicated and experienced staff nurture and stimulate children’s curiosity, ideas and self-expression. Our diverse programs provide children with opportunities to develop independence and confidence. We are located on a residential street in Clifton Hill, backing onto Quarries Park, and offer 3 & 4 year old programs.
Walker Street Kindergarten recognises that starting kindergarten is an important milestone in your child’s life. Together, we will make the transition from home to kindergarten as smooth as possible. In our 4 year old program, we offer a diverse range of experiences with a focus on encouraging our children to develop a strong, confident sense of self, in preparation for primary school.

At Walker Street Community Kindergarten, we are proud that the Kindergarten program has recently been assessed as “Exceeding” the National Quality Standard.

We build positive attitudes towards sustainable values. We encourage children to play, observe and interact with the natural environment, and we teach and model reusing and recycling in our activities.

We keep community at the heart of all we do. We go out into the community on exciting excursions. These are a great way for the children to have new experiences and learn more about themselves, and the world around them.
- MULTICULTURAL CURRICULUM
We are proud to provide a multicultural curriculum, teaching the children about diversity and understanding, celebrating a variety of cultural events and holidays throughout the year.
- SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM
We help children cope with the exciting and challenging period of change that marks their transition to primary school. We work in partnership with our local schools to help make children’s transition as smooth as possible.
