Kinder visitors share visions of future

A number of Y Kindergartens have welcomed some very important visitors to their services recently. With big reforms in Early Childhood Education and some major works at our centres, there have been milestones to celebrate and exciting news to share.

Charlton Preschool’s staff and children were delighted to show the Premier, Daniel Andrews around their Centre and welcomed the announcement of more support for the training of Early Childhood Teachers. Charlton Preschool will be amongst our first services to offer subsidised 3 year old Kindergarten next year.

Parliamentary Secretary, Sonya Kilkenny dropped into Mirboo North Early Learning Centre in Gippsland to announce the good news about the roll out of funded 3 year old kindergarten in the region.

In Wonthaggi, Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale, along with the Mayor Brett Tessari, cut the ribbon and opened Drysdale Street Kindergarten’s new upgraded playground – providing an inclusive play area with sensory spaces, more accessible equipment and veggie gardens. A $120,000 year long project, the new facilities have been keenly anticipated and each area has been enthusiastically embraced and tested by the children!

2020 is shaping up to be a year with a renewed focus on Early Years education and a very exciting one for our services!
