Our Centre

Oban Preschool is dedicated to helping your child grow through play!

Located in Ringwood, Oban Preschool allows your child to expand their knowledge in a fun, play-based learning environment. Our 3 and 4 year old preschool programs are provided with monitored outdoor and indoor play. Each child is different, and we believe in understanding and valuing your child’s individual needs.

Our professional and dedicated staff ensure your child is able to create, grow, learn, love and explore. Oban Preschool is committed to the nurturing and care of young children.

We offer free 3 and 4 year old kindergarten, with our programs running 15 hours a week.

Excursions

Excursions support children to explore and get to know different spaces outside of their immediate world at the centre. We run a variety of excursions and incursions to enhance learning and development.

Focus

We encourage children to play, observe, interact with and respect the natural environment and incorporate sustainable practices.

Access

Storypark connects our educators with families, providing the ability to share news, service updates, progress and exciting moments from kinder to home!

SunSmart
Kindergarten

At Oban Preschool, we are very conscious of keeping our staff and children safe in the sun and we are official participants in the SunSmart program.

Our kindergarten’s philosophy guides our teaching and approach to early learning. It is informed by the National Quality Framework and underpins all our service’s operations and daily practices.

The Y has been delivering Early Learning Programs for over 20 years and is passionate about creating safe, fun, educational environments where children can thrive. Enrolment & Session Information

Oban Preschool’s registration process is managed by MIKA’s Central Enrolment Scheme (Maroondah Integrated Kindergarten Association).

We operate free 4 year old and 3 year old kindergarten programs on the days and times below:

3 Year Old Kindergarten

Yellow Group (2024)

Day Time
Monday 8.30am – 1.30pm
Tuesday 8.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 8.30am – 1.30pm

4 Year Old Kindergarten

Red Group (2024)

Day Time
Wednesday 8.30am – 4.00pm
Thursday 8.30am – 4.00pm
