North Bendigo Preschool

North Bendigo is located in central Bendigo, close to the hospital and Lake Weeroona. We offer four year old funded kindergarten, three long days per week.

Our educational program is play based. The learning of each child is extended by the program being based on their interests and strengths. Our environments incorporate the learning areas of numeracy, literacy, inquiry, creative, physical, dramatic and imaginative, where the children learn new concepts and develop new skills as they engage with the resources in a way that suits their individual learning styles. The experienced educators act co learners to scaffold learning.

We believe in educators and families working in partnership and provide numerous opportunities for families to be involved. We value the opinion of the families and children and involve them in decision making processes.

As children learn by connecting with their community, we provide incursions and excursions to develop the children's understanding of their world and widen their experiences.

Alex

I have worked in early childhood for 30 years in various roles, such as lead educator and centre manager.  I have undertaken these roles in long day care services and joined the team as a teacher at North Bendigo Preschool in 2018.

I place high importance on professional development and have obtained the Diploma and Advance Diploma in Early Childhood as well as the Bachelor of Early Learning.  I don't intend to stop learning and most importantly, learning with the children.  I also train students in early childhood, two days a week.  I am originally from Melbourne, moving to Bendigo in 2011. I value the sense of community within Bendigo and aim for the kindergarten program to provide many of opportunities for the children to connect with the local community.

Sue

I have enjoyed my Diploma role at North Bendigo Kinder since 2011.
Before then I've worked at a Long Day Care Centre and as an Early Childhood Trainer at a training company.
I am passionate about Early Childhood Education and upskilling my knowledge each year, as Early Childhood Education evolves.

Belinda

I have been employed at North Bendigo Preschool since the start of 2013. Over this time, I have worked as a Noah's Ark inclusion support worker and as a Co-Educator for 3 year old kindergarten. I have also been employed as a relief staff member for 4 year old kindergarten and now I work with all three groups on a permanent basis.  I have a Certificate III in Children's Services and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Over the years I have found it very rewarding being a part of the children's educational journey and being involved with the families and other community members.  It's a very positive experience working with and learning from the other Educators.
