Dunolly Kindergarten

Dunolly Kindergarten is a place where children play and learn. Our caring and dedicated Educators strive to create a quality early childhood program for all children. Educators recognise the importance of play in each child's learning journey and provide a balance of child and adult directed play and learning.

Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to create an educational program that acknowledges individual children's ideas, interests, strengths and abilities.

We believe that early childhood is when life skills and attitudes are formed and developed. We also believe that children are capable, competent and creative learners and show remarkable potential in their own right. We value a 'sense of community' in our program and have strong links with local schools, sporting groups, playgroups, the Dunolly Community Garden and local services.

Cat Forster

I am the 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten Teacher at Dunolly Kindergarten. I completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) at Swinburne University and will complete a Masters in Teaching in October 2017. I have worked in education settings since 2006, and have filled many different roles in Melbourne and Central Victorian early childhood settings and primary schools. I have a background in Permaculture and enjoy teaching environmental education, linking outdoor learning to the Early Years Learning Framework, our national curriculum framework.

I believe that all children are individual, with differing capabilities, strengths and abilities. Using 21st Century pedagogical perspectives, I implement curriculum outcomes that allow each child to develop into autonomous, confident learners.

Desley McClelland

I started my Early Childhood career in 1990 at a childcare centre in Melbourne. Over the years, l have been lucky to work with some wonderful and dedicated Early Childhood educators who have shared their skills, wisdom and knowledge with me.

My career has taken me to Queensland, the Northern Territory and back to Maryborough, where l have worked in a variety of roles as Assistant, Room Leader and Services Manager.  I believe that giving children and people a sense of self-worth and encouragement will help them go forward in life. Working with young children and their families is a role l truly value - I want to be able to make a difference in their lives and assist them with positive outcomes.
